Hinterland’s Farm

The farm runs on a 3-acre aquaponic system, which uses fish waste as the base for growing vegetables. The fish waste filters through a bio-filter, producing clean water and oxygen at the same time. The clean water is pumped out of the system, where it can be used for irrigation or even drinking!

The Farm itself has been built in an environmentally friendly manner. A large portion of the farm has been constructed with recycled materials such as clay bricks and timber from sustainable forests. All buildings are constructed using low-energy materials such as concrete blocks and galvanized steel sheeting.

The farm is powered by solar panels that cover most of its roofing area, with enough batteries to keep them charged throughout the day. This power is then stored in the farm’s own solar battery bank.

The farm itself boasts a number of greenhouses and sheds, as well as an aquaponics building. The greenhouses are constructed using recycled materials such as timber and clay bricks. The farm also has a large barn that can be used for storage, machinery, or livestock.

The farm is also home to a variety of animals that produce milk, eggs, and meat, including sheep, pigs, chickens, and ducks. The farm currently produces its own milk and eggs through the use of local animals and the power generated by the solar system. It plans to expand this practice with the installation of a dairy shed in the near future.
